Planning your Digitial Planner
Before starting the design phase, it's essential to plan out your digital planner to ensure it meets your specific wants or needs. Start by deciding the layout and structure of your planner. Consider the sections you want to include, such as a monthly calendar, weekly spreads, to-do lists, goal trackers, and note pages. Think about the color scheme, fonts, and overall aesthetic aligning with your style.

Designing Your Digital Planner on Canva
If you have a clear plan, it's time to bring it to life on Canva by designing your digital planner. Log into your Canva account or create a new one if needed. Canva offers a wide range of templates specifically designed for planners, or you can start from scratch. Use Canva's intuitive drag-and-drop interface to add elements like text, shapes, icons, and images. Customize the colors, fonts, and sizes to match your planner's theme. Experiment with different layouts and designs to create a visually appealing and functional planner that perfectly suits your needs.
Create a Design
I prefer to use US Letter size, but if you like different dimensions, you can adjust them accordingly.
TIP: Add a name to every page of your planner. This step will help you add hyperlinks in the end.
Add a Table to your Design
Click on the Elements tab and search for Table. Add the Table to your design and adjust the column size. You will need a 5x7 table size for a monthly calendar or a 4x4, 7x1 for a weekly spread.
Adjust the border color, width, and style.
Double-click on a square in the Table to add dates to your calendar.
Repeat the process for every month.
Add Hyperlinks
I recommend doing this step for last and copy/paste when done. The hyperlinks can be added to any object or text. Add any Element and text that fits your design, and choose the page you want to link.
Exporting and Using Your Digital Planner
Once you are satisfied with the design of your digital planner, export it from Canva in a format compatible with your preferred digital planner app or software. Canva lets you download your planner as a PDF, PNG, or JPEG file. Consider the platform you will be using to access your digital planner and choose the appropriate format accordingly.
To use your digital planner, import the downloaded file into your preferred digital planner app or software. Many popular apps, such as GoodNotes, Notability, or OneNote, support importing PDF or image files as digital notebooks on your device. Sync your planner across your devices to access it wherever you go and enjoy the benefits of a fully customizable and interactive digital planner.
With Canva's user-friendly interface and extensive design options, you can bring your planner ideas to life. However, Microsoft PowerPoint, Pages, or Google Slides can be an alternative to Canva to design your digital planner.
